John E McMillan & Associates

Our practice was established in 1966 by John E McMillan, FRICS, ACIArb. Iain S McMillan, MRICS joined the practice in 1986 and remains as sole practitioner. Iain became a Professional Associate in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1994.

Building Surveying is the main activity of the firm and since qualifying in 1994 Iain has regularly been involved in the inspection of buildings, both residential and commercial, for the purpose of preparing Building Survey reports, usually on behalf of prospective purchases.

Iain is also a Party Wall Surveyor and deals with party wall matters. We can also prepare Specifications of Work, undertake supervision/Contract Administration of building works on site and carry out the detailed investigation of building defects and report upon the same.

Over the years, we have built up longstanding relationships with various building contractors, Managing Agents, access specialists/scaffolders, drone/aerial surveyors and damp proofing specialists (to name a few) and can usually recommend a company who can assist with the majority of aspects relating to buildings.

Tonia Plummer, Personal Assistant, joined the practice in 2005.

Together, Iain and Tonia work to provide the service that every client deserves.
